Wed. Feb. 15- Black "Little" Legend (Dress like your favorite black legend/Hero)

The dream felt so real. In the same setting as I was before I closed my eyes. Only now, it felt like I was a part of the violent movie we chose to watch before falling asleep. I heard banging and aggressive yelling. They kicked down my door without announcing themselves on the premise. As they bombarded the front door, chaos filled the apartment and both Kenny and I were frightened, still a bit incoherent. My tiny apartment, once my safe haven after serving the community on a 15 hour work shift, had become a battlefield. Us against them. I could feel the sweat pellets fall down my face as my body quivered in what felt like an earthquake of emotions. Only this was a dream, right? My body is stiff. The hairs on my arm standing at attention. I couldn’t breathe. “Kenny’ what’s happening?” “Kenny, I can’t breathe!” Could Kenny hear me? I felt like I was just bearing witness to my own thoughts, an outer body experience. Is this a dream? One shot fired. “Who’s there?” As thoughts raced through my mind, my body felt numb. We were under attack! Were we being robbed? One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six shots fired. It was all a dream, when suddenly it wasn’t. I fell to the ground as blood flowed from my body. Breonna? Breonna!? BREONNA!It was not a dream!I am Breonna Taylor. On March 13, 2020, I was murdered by police officers. I was fatally shot 6 times in my home. Like most of you on March 13, 2020 after midnight, I was asleep and dreaming….. until I wasn’t. SAY MY NAME!
