Uniform Policy for the 2024-2025 school year
At YES Prep, we continue to see the benefits of students wearing YES Prep uniforms and apparel, including a sense of school pride, improved safety and more convenience for families. For this reason, we will continue the standard uniform policy for the 2024-2025 school year. Students must wear a YES Prep-branded polo or spirit shirt five days a week, with the option to wear a school-chosen variation like a college shirt on Fridays.
Students may choose between pants, skirts, or shorts of the following:
- Khakis (any color)
- Navy
- Jeans (any color)
Students should wear bottoms that allow them to comfortably participate in recess and PE. Students may not wear pajama pants or bottoms with holes.
Shorts and skirts should be no shorter than mid-thigh.
Bottoms may not have holes/tears below the knee/with leggings underneath.
Students are not required to wear belts.
Tennis shoes are recommended so students can safely participate in activities at recess and in PE.
For safety purposes, all shoes must meet the following criteria:
- Closed-toed
- Must have backs (i.e. no slides)
- Must have hard soles (i.e. no slippers)
- Any color is permitted
- No shoes with heels over .5 inches
- Crocs are not allowed.
Students may wear only YES Prep branded outerwear. Students may also have the option of purchasing the following from YES Prep or Athletic Departments to build school-pride and community: Students may choose from the following:
- YES Prep crewneck (purchased through YES Prep)
- YES Prep Hoodie (purchased through YES Prep)
- YES Prep Quarter Zip Jacket (purchased through YES Prep)
- Campus-issued grade level or spirit sweatshirts etc. (purchased through campus as applicable)
As we receive more inventory, we will update families so that they can purchase. The expectation is that once inventory arrives, the goal is by the start of Quarter 2 - October 15th, all students must only wear YES Prep branded uniforms and outerwear. For uniform assistance, please reach out to our Student Support Counselor at janese.olonade@yesprep.org.

Arrival and Dismissal Systems
Arrival and Breakfast:
Thank you all for your patience the last two weeks as we worked hard to roll-out and improve our arrival and dismissal systems. Beginning this Tuesday, September 3rd, the gate for arrival will close at 7:35 am. All parents arriving before 7:35 am are expected to drive through the car line to drop-off their students. There should be no parking in the parking lot to walk students to the front office. Parents that arrive past 7:35 am to the gate will have to park and walk their student into the front office lobby and sign them in. Tardies will be tracked starting this Tuesday, September 3rd, a student is considered tardy if they arrive after 7:35 am. For safety reasons, please ensure that you are walking your student inside the building, as there is no traffic control after 7:35 am. Please also keep in mind that breakfast is only served from 7:00 am - 7:40 am. The last opportunity for students to grab breakfast is at 7:40 am.
Dismissal:
We have now gotten a great rhythm going with dismissal and we appreciate you all following our systems to ensure a safe and smooth dismissal in all dismissal duty areas. Beginning. Tuesday, September 3rd, the gate for dismissal will close at 3:30 pm. All students not picked up during the 3:00 pm - 3:30 pm dismissal time will be considered late pick-up. Late pick-up will begin at 3:45 pm in the front office area. Please ensure that you have your ID or car tag to receive your student. Additionally, for safety and security reasons, any secondary siblings should have the car tag to pick up their sibling(s) and are asked to pick up their sibling(s) in the front office between 4:00 pm - 4:05 pm, following their dismissal time, they will not be allowed to wait in the lobby area.
Car Tags:
At this time we are currently waiting for the 2nd copy of car tags ordered by our district office to arrive to the campus. Once we receive these duplicates, we will send home with your student. If you are in urgent need of a second copy, please email nfeops@yesprep.org so that we can work on this request next week.
Walkers:
Parents that have been approved should not be parking in the school parking lot to receive their student. There have been multiple reports of families parking in the school parking lot and receiving their student from the walker area. Students will be removed as walkers if you are seen driving to the campus, parking, and exiting your vehicle to pick-up your student from the walker area. Additionally, no one should be parking blocking the emergency gate (middle exterior gate) at arrival or dismissal.
Transportation: Buses
Thank you all for your patience as the district's transportation team works through all survey completion from the end of year last year AND beginning of year form that closed on 8/23/2024. Please continue to check Class Dojo for the most up to date information regarding transportation updates.
From the transportation team: As transportation continues to overcome technical obstacles and ensure that students are still able to get to and from school, while finalizing permanent ridership. We will extend open transportation for 1 more week 9/3 - 9/6.
The following email was sent on Friday, 8/30:
Dear YES Prep Parents/Guardians,
The Transportation Enrollment Form has closed. This is a friendly reminder that all students, whether eligible or ineligible for bus services, will continue to utilize bus transportation services until Friday, September 6, 2024. If you completed a Transportation Enrollment Form but your student is not eligible for bus transportation you should receive notification by Tuesday September 3rd, 2024. All eligible students will be able to access their specific route and stop times by no later than Friday September 6th, 2024.
