Dear SPARK Families,

Happy February! As we move into a new month, we’re excited about the learning, celebrations, and growth happening across our school.

February is Black History Month, a time when students will be learning about and celebrating the achievements, contributions, and impact of Black leaders, past and present. These lessons help us continue to build understanding, respect, and appreciation for our diverse community.

We will also celebrate Valentine’s Day as a time to focus on kindness, friendship, and positive relationships. Teachers will share classroom-specific details as the day approaches.

For our 3rd–5th grade families, February is an important month for academics. Please be sure to note upcoming testing dates, as consistent attendance and on-time arrival are critical to student success. More specific information will be shared by teachers, and we appreciate your support in helping students come to school well-rested and ready to do their best.

We also want to remind families about our After School Tutorials, which provide additional academic support for students. These sessions are a great opportunity for extra practice and skill-building, and we encourage families to take advantage of this resource. Please contact your child’s teacher if you have questions about schedules or enrollment.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support. We look forward to a positive and productive February!

 Uniform & Safety Policy Reminder

To help keep our students safe, Crocs and backless shoes are not allowed. Students participate in daily PE and outdoor recess, so closed-toe shoes with backs or sneakers are encouraged for safety.

Additionally, all backpacks must be clear. This helps us maintain a safe and secure school environment. Below are some examples of what students should come to school with:

โœ… YES Prep branded shirts
โœ… YES Prep outerwear (jackets or sweaters with the YES Prep logo)
โœ… Any bottoms except leggings

We will be enforcing the uniform policy daily. Please help us by ensuring your child comes to school in the proper attire so they can focus on learning and stay safe during the day.

Help Us Keep Our Campus Vandalismโ€‘Free

Families,

We are asking for your partnership in helping us maintain a clean, safe, and vandalismโ€‘free campus. Every week, we discover writing and drawing in our restrooms, and we want to remind all students about the importance of respecting school property and taking pride in our shared spaces.

Please take a moment to talk with your child about:

  • Treating our school building with care

  • Reporting any vandalism they see

  • Making positive choices in shared spaces like restrooms, hallways, and classrooms

Our goal is to keep NFE a place we are all proud of, and your support at home makes a big difference. Thank you for helping us reinforce these expectations and keep our campus welcoming for every student.

Ayúdenos a Mantener un Campus Libre de Vandalismo

Familias,
