📌 Uniform & Safety Policy Reminder

To help keep our students safe, Crocs and backless shoes are not allowed. Students participate in daily PE and outdoor recess, so closed-toe shoes with backs or sneakers are encouraged for safety.

Additionally, all backpacks must be clear. This helps us maintain a safe and secure school environment. Below are some examples of what students should come to school with:

✅ YES Prep branded shirts
✅ YES Prep outerwear (jackets or sweaters with the YES Prep logo)
✅ Any bottoms except leggings

We will be enforcing the uniform policy daily. Please help us by ensuring your child comes to school in the proper attire so they can focus on learning and stay safe during the day.

Let’s Stock the Teacher Lounge! 🍎📚
Help us show some love to our amazing teachers as they kick off a brand-new school year! We're asking families to donate goodies like chips, oatmeal, cup noodles, granola bars, energy drinks, soup, cookies, crackers, soda, juice, cookies, and bottled water to keep our staff energized and appreciated. It’s a small gesture that goes a long way! Donations can be dropped off at the front office — thank you for helping us start the year strong! 💙

¡Vamos a surtir la sala de maestros! 🍎📚

IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR FAMILIES OF ENGLISH LEARNER (EL) STUDENTS

Dear Parent or Guardian,

We are writing to let you know of a new change in how we will be sending letters that outline EL program placement and other service decisions home.

As part of the EL program, we notify you with a letter when your student is first screened and placed in the EL/multilingual program, when they exit from services after demonstrating proficiency on our annual proficiency assessment and for other required program communication.

YES Prep has started working with Ellevation – a software that supports our EL program – to digitally send this information home by email instead of giving a letter to your child.

If we have permission to contact you, you may receive an email with the subject line “New Message from YES Prep on Ellevation.” Further instructions for how to access your child/dependent’s parent letter will be provided in the email.

If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Ockelberry at (713) 967-9307.

Thank you for your cooperation in rolling out this new system!

 Download the PikMyKid App TODAY!

Dear Parents and Guardians,

To help keep students safe and make dismissal easier, we’re using a new app called PikMyKid. With this app, you can:

  • Update how your child is picked up

  • Assign someone else to pick them up

  • Schedule pickups in advance—all from your phone!

  • This is for all transportation methods!!

We’ve attached a Parent App User Guide with step-by-step instructions to download and use the app. It’s important that all parents and anyone picking up a student register in the app. This helps us make sure every child goes home safely with the right person.

Important: When signing up for PikMyKid, please use the same phone number listed as your primary contact in Skyward. This is how the app connects you to your student.

Please download the PikMyKid app before the first day of school. If you need support, please contact your campus or use the resources listed below.

Also, don’t forget to pick up your child’s dismissal tag from your school’s main office. Contact your school for pickup times.

Thank you for your support as we work to make dismissal safer and smoother. For videos, guides, and more info, check out the PikMyKid resources link below.
