As we continue building on this strong start, we want to remind our families that attendance matters every single day. When students are at school and on time, they have more opportunities to learn, participate, build relationships, and stay on track academically.

We need your partnership in making attendance a priority. Please make every effort to have your child at school every day and on time, unless they are ill or there is an unavoidable circumstance. Every day of instruction counts, and every minute matters!

Please review the Parent and Family Engagement (PFE) Compact. This agreement explains how families, students, and school staff will work together to support student success throughout the school year. Your partnership makes a difference!

Student Meal Accommodation Process

YES Prep Child Nutrition is committed to supporting students who require meal accommodations due to a disability that affects their diet.

If your child needs a meal accommodation, please notify your campus and complete the required Medical Statement Form.

Please ensure all required sections of the Medical Statement Form are completed by the healthcare provider, including:

· An explanation of the student's disability, including how the condition restricts the student's diet and what major life activity is affected.

· A description of the accommodation(s) needed, including specific food or ingredient substitutions, if applicable.

How to Request a Meal Accommodation

1. Contact your campus to request a meal accommodation.

2. Complete the Medical Statement Form with your child's physician or registered dietitian

4. The Child Nutrition Department will review the request and coordinate the appropriate accommodation.

Classroom Birthday Celebration Guidelines 

To ensure we remain in compliance with child nutrition rules and regulations, only cupcakes are allowed for classroom birthday celebrations. Please note that pizza and other food items are not permitted. 

Classroom birthday celebrations take place once a week on Wednesdays at the end of the day. If you plan to send cupcakes, please drop them off at the front office by 1:45 PM on the day of the celebration so they can be delivered to the classroom in a timely manner. 

If you have any questions, please reach out to your child's homeroom teacher. Thank you for helping us keep celebrations fun and safe for all students!

Para garantizar que cumplamos con las reglas y regulaciones del equipo de nutrición, solo se permiten cupcakes para las celebraciones de cumpleaños en el aula. Tenga en cuenta que no se permite pizza ni otros alimentos.

Volunteer Background Check Process:

1. Complete Raptor Application & Read the Volunteer Policy: Guidelines - YES Prep Public Schools

2. Application takes 2-10 days for processing and DCOs (Ops Team) have access to the Raptor report identifying who is approved to volunteer on campus.
3. This application is done every year and volunteers are alerted of application status through email.
